The Economic and Financial Crimes
Commission (EFCC) has commenced the probe
of 12 senior officers of the Nigerian Army.
This was contained in a statement released
today and signed by Colonel Sani Kukasheka
Usman, the acting Director of Army Public
Relations.
The officers under investigation comprise three
serving Major Generals, one retired Major
General, three Brigadier Generals, four Colonels
and one Lieutenant Colonel.
Colonel Usman indicated that a military court
martial would be convened to try any of the
officers shown by EFCC agents to have stolen
public funds.
The army statement did not indicate the names
of the retired or serving officers under
investigation.
