The record-breaking Golden Eaglets striker, Victor
Osimhen, has reportedly signed for the English
Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur.

have been keeping tabs on the goal poacher and
have completed a deal with the 16-year-old striker.
Osimhen netted 10 times in seven games at the
just
concluded FIFA U17 World Cup in Chile which also
made him the all-time leading scorer at the age
group competition.His compatriot, Kelechi Nwakali
who captained the Nigerian side in Chile, having
been voted the player of the tournament, is
reportedly on his way to join Kelechi Iheanacho’s
Manchester City.
Meanwhile, the former national U17 coach, John
Obuh, has advised the golden Eaglets not to rush
to foreign clubs saying they are still minors.
In a telephone chat with Naij.com Sports, Obuh
who managed the Nigerian U20 team between
2010 and 2013 revealed that the boys should return
to the local league to enable them mature and then
graduate to the U20 level.
He said: “The boys have really tried and they
surpassed expectations. I just hope they will not rush
to foreign clubs. They should learn from their
predecessors.
“In fact they should return to the local league, where
they will graduate to the Under 20 category; by then,
they would have been matured.”
