Govt. claims "no resurgence of Boko Haram"

The Federal Government has claimed that
there has been no resurgence of Boko Haram
militants despite a spate of recent attacks in the
country.
According to a report by Premium Times , Lai
Mohammed, Minister of Information and Culture,
made the comment while addressing a press
conference in Abuja.
According to Mohammed, the attacks do not indicate
a resurgence of the group but are instead in line with
what he has described as the "ebb and flow of
insurgency".
Mohammed condemned the recent attacks,
commiserating with all those affected and warning
the public against utterances regarding territories
controlled by the Islamist sect.
In addition, Mohammed urged Nigerians to lend their
support to the military in its fight against terrorism in
the country.
When questioned about the Government's role in
fighting the insurgency, Mohammed revealed that
appropriate measures are in place, citing global best
practice as the protocol that will be followed when
dealing with the extremists.
