Inspector-General of Police Solomon Arase
has ordered the Commissioners of Police in Delta,
Rivers States to fish out ex-Niger Delta militant
,Government Ekpemupolo (aka Tompolo) from his
hideout.
Tompolo has been declared wanted by the Economic
and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) after a
court issued the warrant for his arrest.
Arase, who spoke in Abuja during a session with
journalists on Wednesday.said he has directed his
men to arrest Tompolo anywhere he was sighted.
He stated that since the EFCC has declared him
wanted through a court order, the police was duty
bound to apprehend him to face the charges against
him.
Tompolo, who is facing 40-count charge , is being
tried alongside the ex-Director General of Nigeria
Maritime Safety Agency (NIMASA), Patrick
Akpobolokemi, in connection with the alleged
diversion of a sum of N45.9 billion in the execution of
contracts .
