The 38-year-old rapper - who last weekend claimed he
owes $53 million in bills - has taken to Twitter to
demand education be made cheaper in America after
revealing one of his pals earns $370 a day but has to
fork out $400 for one school text book for her child.
West - who has two children, daughter North, two, and
two-month-old son Saint with wife Kim Kardashian
West - wrote in a Twitter rant: ''I have a friend who
works really hard and makes $370 dollars a day... ''Her
son just got in a really good school and his textbooks
are like $400 dollars each ... ''I mean, his mom has to
work 2 days just to afford 1 book for her son ... ''she's
giving everything she has to make sure her son has a
better future...
''Steve Jobs wanted to lower the cost of textbooks...
''Education puts Americans into debt before they even
get a chance to get started... ''We have to lower the
price of textbooks... ''I'd rather teachers got paid more
and books cost less ... #2020 (sic)''
West's 2020 hashtag appears to be a reference to his
previously announced plans to run for President of the
United States in four years. West made the
announcement at the MTV Video Music Awards last
year, and shortly afterwards current President Barack
Obama gave him a few words of advice.
Appearing to refer to West's reality TV star wife Kim,
he said: ''In case Kanye's serious about this whole
POTUS thing, or as he calls it, Peezy, I do have advice
for him; ''You've got to deal with strange characters
who behave as if they are on a reality TV show. So
you've got to be cool with that.''
